We may not have had an invite to any Hollywood awards just yet but judging by your response to our Christmas film we're positive all the work that went into making it has paid off.
In less than a week the video has had more than 2000 hits on YouTube alone and generated much needed funds via the Wishbone Christmas Tree it was designed to support. "We had so many hits on the day after it was released - more than 7000 - that it caused our databse server to shut down," said Richard Barry, spokesperson for the RSPCA in WA.
"Obviously we would have preferred the server didn't fall over but at the very least we know now that people are clicking on both the film and our CHristmas Tree which is great news.
"Every time someone makes a donation of $20 via the Christmas Wishbone Tree an animal here gets a special Christmas treat and the staff get a huge morale boost. It's absolutely brilliant."
The film has appeared on Facebook BeBo, YouTube, PerthNow, The WestTV and various other social networking and video sites and the RSPCA is hoping people will continue to link to it and share it with their friends. "The more people who see the film, the more money we're likely to make for the animals under our care," said Barry.
