And we're off! Million Paws Walk - the countdown begins
17 April 2009
Rescued dogs, volunteers, staff and of course our wonderful celebrity ambassadors all descended on Perth's CBD on Friday to officially launch this year's Million Paws Walk.
Even Michael Braun, the legendary Eagles star, was there - along with his tiny new son - to join in the fun.
"Central Park in the CBD was packed with animal lovers this afternoon to watch our friends, both human and canine, get this year's Million Paws off to a flying start," said Richard Barry, spokesperson for the RSPCA.
"every dog attending had a story of neglect or abuse and were there to illustrate the kind of work the RSPCA does for the community. Even Tilly, the wonderful little Maltese cross who touched so many people's hearts just a few weeks ago, was there to join in the fun."
The Million Paws Walk is the RSPCA's biggest annual fundraising event with 15000 people and their dogs turning out at the Perth Foreshaw to raise money for the charity.
Don't forget to come back to the RSPCA website on Monday when a special announcement will be made concerning this year's Walk.
