The 25 days leading up Christmas are among the busiest days of the year for the RSPCA. We have to be prepared for animals that may need our care in the lead-up to the festive period and history tells us that means every single one of those days can be extremely busy.

Each day holds different challenges but our response has to be consistent: Provide that animal with all the care it needs upon arrival and ensure that its stay with us is comfortable and - hopefully - short. Our priority is to ensure the welfare of the animal and to get it into a new home as fast as we can.

It could be an a dog  that is found skinny and lost roaming the streets, kittens left in a deserted house after their heartless owners have left them to fend for themselves or an animal that is brought in by one of our  Inspectors that needs urgent help from our vets.
