Appeal for witnesses after cat found in bin

The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses after the body of a cat was found in the remains of what appears to be a wheelie bin in Ballajura on Saturday.

The bin had been melted and the remains of the cat were severely scorched. Also found at the scene was the top part of a gas bottle.

“The scene was discovered by a community services officer on Saturday but unfortunately what remains leaves us little hope of discovering what happened here,” said Richard Barry, spokesman for the RSPCA in Western Australia.

“We are therefore appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the bus stop about 50 meters west of the roundabout of Illawarra Crescent and Marangaroo Drive on Saturday to come forward and tell us what they know.
