A little bit of stardom arrives in Malaga!
March 9 2009
They say that Perth isn't blessed when it comes to stars... Celebrities are in short supply and even the ones that still live in Western Australia are so busy that to actually see them is nothing short of a miracle.
Well not any more.
Her 'honeymoon period' now well and truly over, we'd like to welcome our latest animal welfare staff member, Natalie Foster who - in a previous life - was an extremely popular radio DJ with 94.5.
Nat walked away from the red carpets, the high life and the papparazzi to come and work for the RSPCA where she spends most of her day cleaning up after dogs and telling people how famous she used to be!
"Yes it's true" said Nat "I used to wear high heals and lipstick to work, back when I was famous... Now it's an overcoat and factor 30 for me."
Nat used to be one third of The Big Couch with Clairsy, Nat & Shane and surprised many listeners when she hung up her headphones last year to join the RSPCA. After eight years in radio, Nat decided it was time for a change.
“In a nutshell, I lost the spark I had so long for my job,” admits Nat.
So, this self-confessed animal lover applied, like everyone else, when she saw the RSPCA was looking for a new Senior Animal Attendant.
“Somehow the RSPCA took a chance on me and hired me for the position. I’m still working with animals but this time, they’re the cute, furry type!”
Natalie settled in quickly and has become an integral part of the team at RSPCA headquarters in Malaga, "that really wasn't difficult at all," says Nat, "the staff here are all incredible and everyone has that one thing in common... We all love animals!"
If you would like to meet Natalie come and visit us at 108 Malaga Drive in the newly glamorous Malaga.
