Kids get up close to animals this holiday season
Unique opportunities await kids at the RSPCA these school holidays.
15 September 2009
Children from four through to 14 can get up close to animals through the activities available at the RSPCA. Our many dogs and cats, as well as resident rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, pony and goats will give kids a hands-on experience.
They can also learn how to help with the pets at home too!
A new session in the RSPCA’s school holiday program is ‘Party Animals’. In this session participants will get an idea of what it takes to host their own fundraising party. They will engage in craft activities and discuss fun ways to get friends and family involved in helping raise awareness about animal welfare.
Older children have the chance to roll up their sleeves and help care for the animals at the RSPCA’s PawsCentral. ‘Be A Volunteer’ and ‘Cat Carer’ sessions are hands-on activities, which have proven to be popular in the past.
Sessions are also available for child care centres and youth groups through advance bookings.
Bookings open on the 14th of September 2009. Spaces are limited so book in advance to avoid disappointment. Contact the Education Unit on
