Containers for Change for Animals in Need
Did you know...
You can help animals in need by recycling eligible drink containers?
RSPCA WA is one of the charities you can support when you recycle your bottles for a 10c refund. It doesn't sound like much, but every little bit helps and it all adds up to helping rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need!
How does recycling your drink containers help animals?
- You can donate your Containers for Change refund to RSPCA WA, and help to keep Inspectors on the road, provide comfortable shelter and medical care for animals, and help animals find new homes; and
- By recycling, you're keeping potentially dangerous plastics and glass out of harm's way - protecting pets and wildlife at the same time.
Three easy steps to helping animals:
COLLECT eligible containers
Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible.
TAKE them to a refund point
There are different types of refund points across Western Australia, so find the right one for you.
DONATE your refund to RSPCA WA
You’ll receive 10 cents for every eligible container you return which you can keep or donate.
At an exchange depot or recycling centre, tell the attendants there that you want to donate your refund to RSPCA WA. You might need this Scheme ID:
If you're recycling at an automated machine, you can choose RSPCA WA from the list of charities, or enter the RSPCA WA Scheme ID, or scan this QR Code:
OR, you can drop your containers off at the RSPCA WA Animal Care Centre where we have a large recycling bin. It's the easiest way to do it - no need to remember a code or our Scheme ID - just drop your eligible containers in the recycling bin and drive away - we'll take care of the rest.
Not all containers are eligible for the 10c refund. Click the image below for more details.
