Onesie Wednesday a winter warmer for animal lovers
RSPCA WA is challenging the people of Western Australia to nominate, participate or donate on ‘Onesie Wednesday’ on Wednesday 24 June for a good cause.
RSPCA WA CEO David van Ooran said you can wear a onesie yourself or nominate a family member, friend, colleague or teacher to switch their normal daily attire for an animal onesie.
“Wear your onesie wherever you are on Wednesday 24 June and show you are not afraid to stand out from the crowd!
“Get sponsored for wearing your onesie while going about your daily routine and make your friends and family give a little extra if you commute in one or take on a special onesie challenge.
“If you don’t want to do by yourself nominate someone to join you in a onesie and post a picture of your nomination on social media and tag it #Onesiewednesday.
“Wearing a onesie is a novel way to raise awareness of the important work we do in animal welfare as well as raising much needed funds,” Mr van Ooran said.
RSPCA WA needs to raise 94% of its income as only 6% of operating expenses are covered by a grant from the State Government.
“We want to see the community get behind this initiative and show their support for RSPCA WA.
“I can’t imagine too many people that would not enjoy spending a wintery Perth day in a snuggly onesie,” Mr van Ooran said.
“If you are not brave enough to wear a onesie yourself all I ask is you give generously to someone who is.
