‘CHECK MEOWT’: ADOPTION FEES REDUCED TO $49 TO HELP CATS FIND NEW HOMES

RSPCA WA is reducing adoption fees for all adult cats between Saturday 4th and Sunday 12th March to help them get out of the cattery and into a loving new home.

During this period, all cats over 12 months of age will have their adoption fees reduced to just $49, with the hope of moving the cats into their new homes more quickly.

Since 1 January, 42 adult cats have been adopted from RSPCA WA, while 72 kittens have moved on to new homes in that same period.

“We have lots of adult cats at present just waiting to be adopted,” said Dr. Jess Moore-Jones, Executive Manager Animal Services at RSPCA WA.

“We’d much prefer for them to be enjoying themselves with a family of their own, so we’re hoping we can help them get there a little quicker by reducing their adoption fees,” Dr. Moore-Jones added.

One of the cats available for adoption is three year old Mabel – a tabby that will have been in the care of RSPCA WA for 500 days on Sunday 5 March.

“Mabel’s had a tough run; she wasn’t coping in a shelter environment so she’s been out on foster where she’s been much more relaxed. The problem with that is she isn’t getting the exposure to potential adopters, so we’ve brought her back into our shelter for ‘Check Meowt’ in the hope that someone sees her and falls in love. Hopefully someone takes her home before she reaches her 500th day here,” Dr. Moore-Jones finished.

Every cat adopted from RSPCA WA comes sterilized, microchipped, and fully up-to-date with vaccinations and parasite treatment.

Standard adoption procedures still apply.
