Call for Information on Man Running Down Emus

Call for Information on Man Running Down Emus

RSPCA WA, like many members of the community, has today been shocked and horrified by footage released on social media, showing a man laughing as he appears to be deliberately running down a mob of emus in his car.

Our inspectors are currently examining the footage to try and determine when and where it was filmed.

We are urgently appealing to the public for information, and we urge anyone with any knowledge of the source of this video to contact the RSPCA, or the police immediately. In WA please call 1300 CRUELTY (1300 278 3589) or online https://www.rspcawa.asn.au/animal-information/cruelty.php

Such horrific cruelty clearly has no place in our society.

The possible penalties for a crime like this in WA could be up to 5 years in prison and $50,000 in fines under the Animal Welfare Act (2002).
