Injured and Alone: Scamp's Second Chance

When Scamp the kitten came in to RSPCA’s care she was absolutely petrified – vets couldn’t get near her and she had to be sedated so that they could examine her painful, infected paw. But with proper care, and plenty of cuddles, Scamp learnt to trust again and now has a new lease on life.

A Collie couple, both aged 20, pleaded guilty and were sentenced in the Collie Magistrates Court on Wednesday (27 February 2019) for cruelty to their horse, a thoroughbred stallion named Rio. The charges relate to a cruelty report made in May, 2018.

Port Kennedy Man Sentenced for Maliciously Beating his Dog

A Port Kennedy, WA, man who was convicted on January 3 of maliciously beating his dog in August 2017, was sentenced today. He has received a 6-month Community Service order and must undergo an approved dog training course. His conviction is spent, and his dog, Jingle Bells, has been forfeited to the Crown.

A Thornlie woman was fined $5000, prohibited from contact with any animal for three years, and is required to pay costs $764.02, after being found guilty for cruelty to her dog, Lily. Lily has made a slow but full recovery.

Peel Couple Convicted, Fined for Cruelty to Pony

A husband and wife from the Shire of Murray were both found guilty of animal cruelty offences in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Wednesday (3 October 2018). They were each fined $4000, and each had legal and care costs of $7000 awarded against them. They have also been banned from being in charge of any horse for a year.
