29 RSPCA WA volunteers were recognised for their length of service to the organisation at a function hosted by RSPCA WA Patron-in-Chief, Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC, Governor of Western Australia, at Government House on Wednesday 8 November 2017.

RSPCA WA has appointed to two new board members at its Annual General Meeting for 2016-2017. Michelle Mackenzie returns to the board, and Michelle De Ronchi joins the board.

On Friday 6 October, approximately 100 RSPCA WA volunteers will be in the city and at train stations around Perth collecting donations for RSPCA WA’s annual street appeal, Happy Tails Day.

On Thursday 12 October we will be holding one of our Community Action Days in the City of Kwinana, at Calista Oval from 1pm – 3pm.
The Kwinana catchment has been identified as an area in need of animal welfare education and support, with our Inspectors regularly called out to welfare concerns.

RSPCA WA has received a number of reports of animal baiting around Perth and regional areas. RSPCA WA is warning owners to keep an eye on their pets, and reminding people that baiting is a criminal offence with serious consequences.

It has been a horrendous 48 hours for animals around Western Australia, with concerned members of the community reporting four severe cases of cruelty and neglect around the state to RSPCA WA.
In addition to the sad case of Jack, the dog burnt in Geraldton earlier this week, in the last 48 hours Inspectors have had to attend to:
A puppy bashing south of Perth
An emaciated, injured foal in Bunbury
A cat suffering from extreme neglect in Mandurah
A badly neglected dog with a severe skin condition in Perth’s northeast
