GOVERNMENT GRANT A LIFELINE FOR PETS IN CRISIS

RSPCA WA welcomes today’s announcement by the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence, the Hon Simone McGurk MLA, of a one-off funding commitment of $100,000 by the WA Labor Government to support the organisation’s Pets in Crisis trial program.

The Pets in Crisis program offers a temporary home for pets from households experiencing family and domestic violence while their owner seeks refuge or temporary accommodation of their own, helping to alleviate some of the logistical stress of removing themselves and their loved ones from a dangerous home environment.

Toodyay Man Sentenced for Mass Cruelty to Sheep

Clinton Charles Wheatley was sentenced in Perth Magistrates Court today after pleading guilty to cruelty to sheep on his Toodyay farm in March 2014.

He was fined $50,000 and given a conditional prohibition order.

GOSNELLS MAN CONVICTED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY OVER NEGLECT OF TWO ELDERLY DOGS

A Gosnells man was sentenced at Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday for animal cruelty after he pleaded guilty to charges of neglect of his two elderly dogs.

Christopher Lee Gleich, 44, was fined $10,000 and received a 10 year ban from owning any animal and was ordered to pay costs of $3,808.

WITNESSES SOUGHT AS PUPPY BASHED AND DUMPED IN PERTH’S NORTH

RSPCA WA is appealing to the public for information following the discovery of an injured puppy in Perth’s northern suburbs this morning, which appears to have been bashed on the head and left for dead.

A member of the public was walking their own dog in Strutt Way Reserve in Noranda earlier today when their dog went in to some bushes and discovered the injured puppy.
