A Gosnells man was sentenced at Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday for animal cruelty after he pleaded guilty to charges of neglect of his two elderly dogs.
Christopher Lee Gleich, 44, was fined $10,000 and received a 10 year ban from owning any animal and was ordered to pay costs of $3,808.

RSPCA WA is appealing to the public for information following the discovery of an injured puppy in Perth’s northern suburbs this morning, which appears to have been bashed on the head and left for dead.
A member of the public was walking their own dog in Strutt Way Reserve in Noranda earlier today when their dog went in to some bushes and discovered the injured puppy.

In a joint investigation with the Department for Parks and Wildlife (DPaW), RSPCA WA is seeking information following the discovery of a critically injured kangaroo in the State’s south, which appears to have been tortured in a sickening act of animal cruelty.
A member of the public discovered the kangaroo still breathing and conscious on the ground in an area west of Albany early last week. The kangaroo had been partially skinned and disemboweled; its front leg also seriously injured.

RSPCA WA is appealing to the WA public for assistance in solving several disturbing acts of animal cruelty that occurred in the last eighteen months, with the perpetrators still at large and yet to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed.
Despite the widespread publicity surrounding the cases, and the information provided by members of the public at the time, a person of interest could not be identified or located in any investigations that followed.

Figures from the RSPCA 24/7 Cruelty Hotline are showing little to no change in WA’s animal cruelty hotspots from 2016 to 2017, with some suburbs on track to record the highest number of cruelty reports for a second year in a row.

Armadale Magistrates Court sentenced a woman on Friday for cruelty to her two dogs, following her failure to adhere to direction notices issued by RSPCA WA Inspectors in July 2016.
Tamahne Ketchup, 29, of Medina was fined $4000 plus costs, and prohibited from being in charge of any dog for three years, for two charges of animal cruelty to her Shar Pei dogs, Marna and Parley.
