A 35 year old Bunbury woman was convicted for two counts of animal cruelty in the Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday, 3 December. The charges relate to two horses found in her care in May this year.

A husband and wife from the Shire of Murray were both found guilty of animal cruelty offences in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Wednesday (3 October 2018). They were each fined $4000, and each had legal and care costs of $7000 awarded against them. They have also been banned from being in charge of any horse for a year.

RSPCA WA and WA Police are appealing for information about a dog found mutilated on Waterside Drive in Dudley Park, Mandurah, on 21 July 2018. The dog was found with a deep laceration around the circumference of its torso and abrasions on its face and paws.

RSPCA WA has released data that shows a sharp increase in violent cruelty against animals in the past year. Data relates to cases involving malicious beating or wounding, tormenting, torture and poisoning.

A northern suburbs woman was sentenced today for severe cruelty to her dog. She was fined $8000, is prohibited from being in care or control of an animal for 10 years, and was ordered to pay reimbursement costs of $1216.32 and court costs of $119.35.
